I am getting some anti-freeze in the oil pan. Can
anti-freeze come from the water pump? This all
started after I ground the valves and put on a
new head gasket. Water pump has never been changed.

Could be your new head gasket. I would retorque
it starting in the center and torquing in both directions. Hal

What tractor do you have?? Hard to help you with out more info. If it has wet sleeves that could be your problem. Or it could be your head gasket or a freeze plug in the head but with out more info hard to help you help your self

Like Old said, we need to know what tractor you are working on. Best case, it is the head gasket. worst case, cracked head or block. Middle of the road would be failed "O" ring on sleeve if a wet sleeve model.

I had that problem and fixed it with a new head gasket. If you installed a new head gasket correctly then something could be cracked.
