Farmall 450 clutch

My Farmall 450 clutch has just started not disengaging completely when I step on the clutch pedal, thus making the gears grind. I"ve readjusted the clutch and TA according to the manual with no help. Seems like if I push the pedal as far as it will go, there is a little binding feeling in the pedal and that is the worst for gear grinding - if I let the pedal come back just a little, the binding feeling seems better, and it is a little easier to get it in gear, but not normal. A retired mechanic friend thinks it is a problem with the pressure plate. Does this sound like a good place to look. TA seems to work fine, so we"re thinking it is a clutch problem rather than a TA problem. Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Throwout bearing can cause trouble as well as the pilot bearing getting bad. Wear on pressure plate fingers can cause trouble as well as dryness where the throwout bearing slides. Take the inspection plate off the bottom cover & see if there is a grease fitting on the throwout bearing. If one is there, give it a couple of shots of grease. Dryness on the clutch disc splines is another possible source of trouble.

I gave it a few shots of grease. I think it did help some, but it still isn"t right. Maybe with time and use the grease will help more. Thanks for the help.
