Main hydraulic pump gasket on farmall super H

Hi, I have been looking at starting to work on my grandpa's Farmall Super H. A few years ago, he said that he had put the wrong hydraulic oil into it and said that he burned out the main seal, that goes in between the main tractor, and the hydraulic pump. Obviously, every time this tractor sits, it loses all of its oil. My main question is what is the name of this seal? And where can it be purchased? Can anyone answer these questions?

I believe that is an o-ring, available about anywhere. If you want to be certain it is made out of the right material, get it from CaseIH. If there is a groove in the pump shaft, you will need a speedy- or redi-sleeve (trade names) after having the hole in the housing enlarged to accept the shaft.

CNKS is correct if it is a Live pump on the engine in front of the distributor. If it is a belly pump, it is in the middle of the tractor and accessed from the bottom. If belly Liftall pump, the seal in question is a lip type seal and easily changed It is necessary to drop the drive shaft to the pump (sheet metal cover) cotter pins, and remove shaft.
Drop the pump with care after removing the elbows and control lever and cap. It is heavy and awkward. A floor jack and two people, or threaded rod with nuts to lower it are good options.
When lowered, the drive flange needs to be removed. it will be tight. Remove the pump from the reservoir casting. Stick a brass or copper wedge into the gears through the intake port. Turn the slotted drive flange CCW to loosen (normal threads). The seal is then easy to replace. A duplicate should be able to be found at NAPA or Motion Industries etc. Jim
