Hi - Have a Farmall 300 1956 with a loader on front. The handles to control the shovel empty/fill and rise/lower are broken. These are located on the right side of the tractor where you place your feet. I want to change all this to have the controls on the right side on the steering wheel - has anyone done this? Every time I press the breaks I accidentally press one of the levers - heheheh - what a pain.

And can I increase the pump power?

[i:371bcf21fc]Right side of the tractor where you place your feet[/i:371bcf21fc]... so these are not the valve handles that are part of the tractor and located on the right side of the dash? If they are part of the loader, places like TSC have replacement valves for loaders and handles that fit, if you want to relocate the valves. As for increasing the "pump power", the only way to do that is with a higher pressure relief valve. If you are using the tractor pump, I wouldn't do that as you may go over the rated pressure of the pump.... maybe a little would be okay, but not much. I'm not sure where the RV is on the 300, I think it's in a block on the tractor valves under the dash, but it may be possible to shim the spring to increase the pressure. Increasing the flow with a bigger pump would make it operate faster and increasing the pressure relief valve will increase the lift weight or capacity.

Go to tractor photos at left on screen. Search for farmall 300 photos. Some will show that most tractors have the hydraulic levers are located on the right of steering wheel originaly. Unless you have a international 300 utility instead of a Farmall.
If the tractor hydraulics are in good condition the next step would be to a PTO pump if the tractor has IPTO, for more loader power.IMHO

adding photos for better understanding my problem.

Also Im taking all the hoses and hydralic arms to get refitted - they seem old and don"t hold the sholve in the air for long.

you can see in the pic the handles that have been replaced with vise grips

Sorry, you said "Farmall" so I was assuming it [b:7f2b660ba9]was[/b:7f2b660ba9] the Farmall and not International. One should never "assume" anything.
I'm going to say the best bet is a tractor salvage, or make your own.
