International 450 tractor

I'm looking for a International 450 wide front tractor with power steering for my Dad. His birthday is coming up, and I would like to find one if it's for sale.

He seems awful picky to me. I'd start him out on a Cub Cadet and maybe see about a bigger tractor when he grows up.

Be sure of what you are describing, Farmalls are tall tractors (row crop style with wide or narrow front) Wheatland W series were lower with smaller tire diameter and different driving position. I can't recall a International badged 450 series. (possible for an Industrial version, but not farm style could have been produced from the W series. Rice special models might also have been sold in the south.
Craigs list, EBay, and this classified section to the left are about all there is for sources.
remember that transportation costs could be as much as purchase price if even a few states away.

Jim,

International W-400, W-450, W-560, and 660 are not rare tractors. Easiest to find in small grain areas and that would include Canada. Finding a W-450 with power steering will be difficult. Finding one with good PS even more difficult. The repair kit is no longer available.

I am currently assembling the components for installing hydrostatic PS on my W-400. Aftermarket drag link type actuators are available but not sure they are strong enough for bigger tractors.

Can't understand why people post wanted ads but will not indicate their location. At any rate, this request should be entered in the wanted section of the classified ads here at YT.

Also still not clear as to what you want.... Is it a "Farmall" or a Wheatland?. There was a Farmall either 400 or 450 a while back in the Wichita area Craigs List... probably gone by now.... been about 6 weeks ago.

there is one listed on craigslist near me. http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/grd/1914700353.html This looks like a good deal and I would be interested if I didn't already have a 450. The widefront is worth $600 alone.

Excellent running. Has one new rear tire. Other is good. Power steering,wide front, very straight sheet metal. Tractor is running in pictures.Low hours.Call 269-397-6699 for information.

Thanks for the info! I spoke to him, the TA is slipping, and the power steering isn't working well.
