Farmall B low oil pressure ?

I put 5 quarts of oil in my Farmall B and after running it a little bit to warm it up, the oil pressure dropped into the red. Any Ideas????

It is probably 1 of 2 things. It is either 1.) the oil pump face plate has warped and it is leaking oil (result lower pressure). 2.) your bearing are worn out.

There are a couple of other possibilities, but I would definately try #1 first. You will find a number of "how to fix this" posts in the archives. If you can't find them, let me know and I will post the steps.

I have and still have a bunch of these over the yrs. First i wouls change the guage with on i know works. Wouldnt be the first time for a bad guage.

like tom fleming said, check the oil pump. my b would loose oil pressure after it got warmed up. pulled the cover off the pump and there were wear marks in it from the pump gears. some emery cloth and a flat piece of glass, cleaned it up and it works fine now. get a new oil pan gasket and pump cover gasket before you pull it apart. pretty easy fix.
