Ok, so I finally got spark to the supply wire for the dist cap. Only problem is the spark is only about 1/8". I put a new condensor in it but that was when I wasn't getting anything. I am going to put the old one back in and see if it improves. Sound like an idea to you guys?

I found out my original problem was that I put the hot wire for the spring side of the points on backwards and it let the spade connector arc to the body of the mag.

I never would have guessed that while doing a simple routine maintanence task something could get soo screwed up.

Thanks for your time AGAIN!!!

I also replaced the rotor, cap, and plug wires in hopes of getting enough spark to the plugs. No such luck.

It gives a pretty crisp snap. I found my problem. Along with the one wire grounding out, the NEW condensor was bad. I put the old one in and POW!!!!

She took off, thanks everyone for your help and advice.

Is that condensor tester a homemade thing or can one purchase a tester? Also, do mags and battery ignitions used different condensors?
