just drained fluid from the 130 tranny and am wondering what i could use to flush the sludge.planning to refill with sae-80w-90 gear oil, does that sound ok?
thanks buggy

Ha well this is a suggeation and it probly doesn't work great but i just jacked up the front on my H and let it sit for a few days and got most of it drained out the back plug

you can flush them with either kerosene or diesel fuel. put a paint strainer in the funnel when you drain the fuel so you can pour it back a few times to flush it. the old tractor books say to add a gallon or so of kerosene to the old oil and run the tractor around a while with no load, then drain it. the kerosene thins the oil and dissolves a lot of the gook.

If you want to get all of it, pull the trans cover, use whatever you want, I use parts cleaner -- and wipe it all out.
