12 volt motor to run water pump

Hello, I have a pulling tractor that is running alittle hot. A friend of mine was telling me about a tractor that had a 12 volt motor that ran the water pump and circulated the water after the tractor was shut off. Does anyone know of this set up and what to use. Thanks

look up summit racing or jegs automotive. they sell the 12v fan cooling motors for race cars. it has enough oomph to drive the water pump no problem. heres a couple

Water pumps for RVs work well. Go into the top radiator hose, and a drain connection. You would also need an electric fan for the radiatoe to be truely effective. Jim

Im all for using stored battery energy to run horsepower robbing water pumps and fans while pulling versus using precious engine HP to do so. I wouldnt even be using engine power to run the genny or alternator while pulling, a battery can easily run the fan and pump water for a short pull. 12 VDC RV water pumps can supply something like 5 GPM at 30 PSI while a 12 VDC electric fan supples all the air needed through the radiator.

Go for it, unless you like wasting engine HP when its not needed.....
