Farmallhal;

I read your posts regarding tractor tool boxes and found it interesting. Blain's Farm ~ Fleet is my favorite store, well, maybe the grocery store, but otherwise it is. Buy my clothes, oil, hydraulic fluid, Fram filters, pet food to washers. Somethin' way back in the dark corners of my mind has me too wonderin' what those toolboxes were called. I have seen them on older models w/the IHC logo and on the sickle mowers the Amish have refurbished and use. Dad had a couple of them sell at his auction as I didn't think they were 'vintage' for my Farmall 340. I've been thinkin' one is in order. They would be handy as the area under the seat just doesn't hold enough with a rag and gloves under there. Thanks for the good topic and to DeltaRed for the initial posting.

Hope the links help and post back what you find. The stores have tool boxes. A securely mounted, lockable toolbox would be great, even at the shows. I had me a 5:30 a.m. foggy tractor ride. Enjoy your day folks.

Thanks for the come back and for the life of me I just can't remember the name of them. The first one I got was from a person somewhere in Iowa either on ebay or on the forum classified or photo ads. He called it by the name by which they are known and probably was the company name followed by toolbox. The lid on mine are a little over 6" side and 18" long as I recall. I usually do a clean up of old mail out of storage folders on my PC and I'm sure the saved note was blown away sometime ago since it is no longer in the folder. Thanks again, Hal.

In the 50 s & latter, a very popular tool box made in Iowa had the name :FARM MECH stenceled or painted on it . They were painted to match green , red & orange tractors . Maybe other colors . The back side of it was made to lift off of the mounting brackets and it has a lockable lid . I still have 1 or 2. clint

They were made in the small town of Parkersburg, IA. I think the brand name was FARMECH, or something close to that. Real popular tool boxes years ago.
