hydraulic question

first off i dont know a whole lot about hydraulics but i would like to know what is the purpose of the block that the remotes are plumb into i see there are two lines that go from the remote to this block then the outlets on the other side of it. looking at the IT Manuel there are parts in it. just curious to its function. and if i was to add a second remote would i have to find that part to or just run hoses out of the remote here is a picture of the part in question if it post( reason to try to post pictures)

I think the block you are refering to is a check valve to help prevent settling. You can use your hydraulics without it
