460 utility

I don't know how many of each were built, but none of them came with a 3 point because at that point in time IH was using the 2 point fast hitch.

3 point was available for the industrial version, it is in my parts book. Not saying they were available at the beginning of manufacture, though. Possibly could have been added after production ceased, as some things are.

Only 460U I have seen with a true 3 point (not modified F-H) was the experimental one Cessna designed in the early '60s. It was intended for the next generation of IH tractors, but it never went to production. It worked fantastic... I have plowed with it and it would outwork tractors 15-20 HP bigger. Later it was sent to Oliver in Charles City for evaluation, and I believe Cessna allowed Oliver to copy some of the technology. This was in 1966 because I was running some tests on Cessna equipment for Oliver in late '65 when Oliver asked what ever happened to the design. The tractor was resurrected from the "bone pile", re-tested at Hutchinson and shipped to Charles City. It later came home and we used it for some unrelated testing again and the 3 point draft control still worked great.[/list]
