cub mag problems

have a 51 cub giving me mag troubles has some fire but not enough has orange spark coming from coil and small light blue out of plugs do you think the coil is week or is something else and yes I tried new points and condensor

What condition are the plug wires in? Replace them with copper core wires. Look for carbon arking on inside of cap and on the rotor. Clean with red scotch brite pad.

You should be seeing a fat, blue spark from the coil. My guess is that you need a new coil.

Agreed about the blue spark. Red or yellow sparks are no good for engine ignition. But really good sparks are thin and make crackling noise. Good sparks are often not visible in strong sunlight.

I would try another condenser first. A weak coil will usually fire when cold & get weaker when hot.Did you clean the points after you put them in? Does the impulse give a good snap sound or a dull thud?

when I first started messing with it had a fair spark but got weeker was told tractor ran a year ago so I went ahead and order a new coil
