Hello. Was 6V electric lights and starter standard equipment on the Farmall A tractor or were these options. Looking at a 1945 with just a starter. THANKS

You can always add lights to it. They are very easy to find. We try to add them to all of the tractors we get simply just becasuse it makes them look "complete".

I'm pretty sure the lights we optional because I know for a fact the starter was optional. Some of them weren't even built with a mount for a starter; so I'm guessing that the lights would have been optional. Like I said though; not a big deal to get some original ones and bolt em on.

Lights and starter (read, therefore, generator) were alway listed as an option, but became pretty much standard equipment.

That said, between the need, or not, for lights on the farm that bought the tractor new, and considering the privations and sacrifices that folks took upom themselves during the war years, I shouldn't tink your setup would be at all unusual.

But, for that, it wouldn't be a whole lot of $$$ in parts to add the lighting.

Lights were available from day one. Starters came along a bit later. After that, you could get either one separately of both together. Lights were available with either a single or two headlights.
