super c (cant get clutch to work right????please help

I installed new clutch on super c etc....went to give it a try, makes loud noise then works, but when i come to a stop, then try to go again it will not go into gear, just makes loud noise and gears grind etc....i have played with adjusting the link in and out but still cant get it, too far one way wont work at all too far the other way just loud noise, i am not real familiar with clutch adjustments just following book etc... what did i do wrong

Sounds like the clutch disc might be facing the wrong way. Just a guess.

Did you change and lube the pilot bushing?
