I have a a Farmall 806LP. The engine is stuck. Does anyone know if a 706LP would fit or possibly any other engine from a combine, cotton picker or the like? I believe the 806 had a 301cubic innch motor and the 706 had a 291cubic inch motor.

Only the later 706s had the 291 engine. The rest had the 263.

The 301 did not have sleeves, the 291 and 263 did.

LP pistons might be different than gas. You might want to find a parts book before going too far.

ive got an 806LP. heres what ill tell ya

if you want to replace the whole engine, a 291 and a 263 will bolt in and work. cant mix and match any parts with a C301 since its sleveless.

an 806LP engine is a C301 which is exactly the same as a gasser tractor. HEADS ARE THE SAME!!!! pistons are the only thing different with just SLIGHTLY higher compression, not much

an engine out of a 715 combine will fit, you just need to use the front cover of the the tractor engine. your toolbox will not work if you use the combine engine since the front moutning bracket will not have anywhere to attach. the boss is nonexistant on the combine engine, so no where to thread a bolt in

HAVE FUN!!

A caviat on a 806LP. Be sure to have hardened valves and seats installed. We have a 806 that was converted from gas to LP and after overhauling the valves went out shortly.
