I maybe purchasing a C. Havn't seen it in a while and the guy was using it for parts so I don't remember if it has sheet metal but I believe with enough time you can restore anything. my question is how hard is it to find parts for a C? I know on ebay you can about buy a whole H or M in parts and I havn't seen any C in junk yards. i would like to restore it for my grandpa when i get the time. thanks

Tyler, I would not buy a parts tractor to restore, especially a C.

There are LOTS of Cs and Super Cs out there and they are some of the least expensive tractors to buy. You can get a complete running C for not much more than you'd be paying for this junker.

You're likely paying too much for the parts tractor, and you will spend a fortune in parts, gas, and time hunting down the pieces to put it back together.

Cheaper and easier to buy a running tractor that just needs some repair and cosmetic work. They are common down here in Texas.

The mid-west should be full of them, Mo., Minn., Iowa, Wisc., Ill. ,etc. They were a very popular small row crop tractor in the '50s. Dad owned 3 or 4 Cs and at least one SC from '49 until he died in '84, then Mom had one for another 10 or 12 years after he was gone. Should not be hard to find a complete tractor and all the parts anyone would need.

Tyler, The Farmall C and Super C are very common with them quite easy to find. After I bought my SC in 2005 I had to chase down some parts and seemed to have found a very large number of them in Pennsylvania along with the equipment made for those models. I guess the smaller acreage diary farms or whatever else they have there along with a very strong IH dealership network made them an ideal tractor for that type of farm. Here in the midwest like Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, etc. we seem to have a larger number of the larger tillage tractors like H's and M's and their later variants. The Super C I bought was an original Missouri tractor on a large northern Missouri farm and was used like a 1950's three or four wheeler for small barn lot and farm chores until it became a city tractor in 1960 for doing the mowing and garden plowing. Hope this helps in your search but those C's abd SC's are very common and a great smaller tractor and quite easy to work on and restore with a abundant of parts available, Hal.

Weird how things change across the country. Here in Ohio/Michigans Cs and Super Cs don't come up very often. You can buy a fully restored H or M for 2500, but will pay 3000 for an un restored C.
