Hello. I have a 1951 Farmall Super C and it has the hyraulics on it. My question is how to I hook up a plow with a hydraulic cylinder to my tractor. Do I need other parts. HELP. THANKS

Does it have a fasthitch? I had a Super C and the 2-bottom plow and was easy to hitch the plow to the tractor. Hal

If all you have is touch control for the rockshaft you need a bypass block mounted between the hydraulic tubes on the reservoir and a spool valve mounted on the light bar or elsewhere. Saginaw County Tractor and others have the bypass block, about any farm store will have the spool valve, along with hoses, etc. Custom fit hoses made by a hydraulic shop are better, and more expensive. Original IH parts are hard to find, but available with a lot of searching.

Go on ebay. A gentleman from Buffalo NY sells bypass blocks for The Super C on there from time to time at very reasonable prices. He also sells them for Cubs, and does good work.

There WAS a remote hydraulic valve kit for the Super C, but if you do find an NOS kit, it is a museum piece and you will pay big $$$ for it.

It is much cheaper, quicker, and easier to buy the bypass block and an open center hydraulic spool valve.

And that could run a double acting cylinder, or just a single-acting cylinder?

Sorry for hijacking this thread a bit here.

The control valve is what will determine whether or not you can use a single or double acting cylinder. The by-pass block is what will separate the touch contol from the aux. valve part of the system.
