Electrical for 350U

I accidently charged the 6 volt battery to 12 volt causing the tractor not to start.
I put in a new 6 volt battery and it starts but the current gage is showing discharge. I shut it off after 30 seconds for fear of ruining something else.

Should I let it run longer and maybe it"ll straighten out? Or could the voltage regulator or the generator be messed up after having 12 volts go through them?

I think Id be more concerned that the Voltage Regulator may be at fault now instead of the genny. In Para 5 of my Troubleshooting Procedure (See URL below) I describe how to essentially by pass the VR and if she still dont charge then Id suspect the genny. Run the Para 5 by pass test then see if she charges or not........

Thank you for the info. Everything was running fine before I did the 12 volt mix up. Reckon the VR or generator got messed up.
