I have spent the past year off and on working on this tractor. It is now nearing completion. Did get so not so good news last week on the radiator. I had taken it to a radiator shop for some repairs and the man said it would take $ 700 to re-core it. So it is off to Bourbon IN. to pick up a new one.

Your radiator is probably fine. Have you thought
about re-coring the radiator guy?

I don't trust any of them. It must be the lead. Or
maybe it's the dimly lit and grimey surroundings.
You should do your own diagnostics and let them do
the repair if you are unable.

Get some rubber or cork plugs and a kiddy pool.
You will get a better test if you can pressurize
at the drain plug with 5 psi of air. Don't let the
plugs hit you in the face by accident.

Oh, and one more thing. Never let a radiator man paint over his work, or non-work, as the case may be.

This is one of the few you can trust. I have had him do other work. I just didn't expect it to cost 700 to recore it. As a side note the Super M radiator is the same except for the hole where the steering shaft goes through.

How did you replace the outer seals on the rear axle? I pulled my axles today and now I need to pull the outer bearing to get to the seals. No room for puller and I"m a little iffy about pulling on the seal retainer.

Did you take the retaining cap off? The seal is just under the cap. No need to remove the bearing. If the seal is shot no need to worry about digging it out. The old IH part number is 60-624-D.
