300U exhaust manifold

does anyone know where i might get a 300U exhaust manifold? looked on stieners and this site and ih site's web pages and have not found anything, does it pay to call if they don't have it on their sites?....thanks
 
If vertical muffler, 300 row crop will fit, probably 350 and H/Super H, not sure. You might have to go to salvage for horizontal. Get the part number and try www.external_link, or www.batescorp.com, among others.
 
what about going with a 300 mani and going vertical, what does that involve? what size pipe comes out the thru the sheet metal?
 
Exhaust manifold from an Farmall H, Super H or 300 row crop tractor will fit. I just did it on a 300U that I'm restoring. A hole has to be cut in the hood. The exhaust pipe is a 2 inch black pipe that most plumbing shops can make up for you. If you measure the outside Dia with a tape measure it will measure 2 1/2 inches. The threads in the manifold are 2" NPT. If you buy a new manifols from somebody like Steiner the pipe usually comes with. Hope this helps.
 
I don't know the size, they are commercially available or you can cut your own, just plumbing pipe. Problem is cutting the hole as the hood is curved.
 
I believe, not sure, that it is the same as the H, but upside down. Been 15 years since I did mine. I know you can get the whole exaust assembly from the IH dealer.
