450 D Fuel tank shutoff, help

Part no. 65 524D, Anyone have a good one, mine leaks out the stem, mostly when opened. If I'm right I think the thread into the tank is standard 3/8 NPT and the nut for the line is a fine thread.
Local dealer has it listed as discontinued and Joe Rice could not find one either.
Is there just a packing under the stem nut that I can loosen the nut and replace or isn't it servicable?

I would just try some string, back packing nut off and add a few wraps, just leave enough room to put nut back on. Can use special graphite impregnated but plain old string will do the job also.

I bet you could find a nice ball valve at a hardware store somewhere.
