M Spin On Filter

I have asked before if there is one available and was directed to OEM & CNG. However, I can not find any made for a M. Does anyone know if in fact they do make one for the M/SM/400/450 blocks and if so, where to purchase?

Call CNG-866-327-6255-their website is nowhere near all inclusive. OEM generally makes parts that are no longer available. The spin on filter is "relatively" new. But, I don't know why anyone would want one, the canister type is very easy to maintain. An off color filter on a Farmall looks weird to me.

It is on a puller is why I want it. All of our other tractors maintain a stock set up. I prefer to be able to run a Fleetguard filter that I know is getting the job done on a tractor with a fair amount of money in the engine.

Thanks for the info, I will call CNG Monday morning.

have you tried IH?
that is where I got mine for my 'H'
I think they are the same..

These prices are about 10 years old
Spin on adapter - IH part number 538828R91 $60.37
Filter with the IH part Number 538836R1. $6.44

FILTERS that fit
Fleetguard #f3308
Fram #p3317
Wix #51051
Baldwin #BT341
Hastings #HF907
Case IH #538836R1

THESE ALL CROSS to a hydraulic filter

The Hastings oil filter uses the same element and is CHEAPER
Hastings #LF117

I have not, thanks for the part number. The H & M filters are the same, so I don't see why that part # would not work. Thanks again!

with the puralator system in your m it only filters about 5% of the oil as it circulates so the quality of the element won't make much difference on your m.

Why not just by the fleetguard cartridge and save some money for performance goodies. Same element media anyway. Maybe even more area on the tall M element than the spin on.

OEM will have a smaller micron filter than any jobber outfit! i have no idea what the purpose of the spin on filter is for other than ease of changing.

Not trying to start an argument, but you are not correct. You can get Fleetguard filters down to 3 micron and there is no way OEM is close to that.
