Super MTA hood

Starting to round up restoration parts and I am in need of a Super MTA hood. (in case you dont know, only a SMTA hood will work as they are longer than any other M.) Thanks for any help.

That's not quite true. SMD and MD hoods are the same length as SMTA. If I recall correctly, it is 59.5". Of course, the exhaust hole will be in the wrong place and the starting fuel tank needs its own hole. The interior braces will be missing as well but that is not a big deal.

I have a MD hood that I would sell.
 
what makes you think the t.a. hood is longer? have you done your measurements to the sm?
 
The hood is perfect. No dents. No rust. It has an old farmer=applied brushed on coat of paint.

I don't know what it is worth. I'll let eBay tell me. Let me know if you want to see it listed.
 
I'll measure my SMTA hood later today for you and I do think they are longer due to the addition of the torque amplifer section. I don't have a SM so can't measure one of those but I will also measure my straight M hood as well and post back later today, Hal.
 
The hood on my Farmall M is 38 3/8" long while the one on my Farmall SMTA (gasoline model) is 39 7/8" long. As I mentioned in my earlier post I don't have quick access to a Super M to measure one of them but I don't know why the Super M wouldn't be the same as a straight M. Hope this helps and before buying a SM hood you should verify the length to see if it is the correct length for your SMTA. Good luck in your restoration efforts, Hal.
 
I had to go to town for a minute and stopped by a neighbor who has a Super M stage 2 tractor and measured his hood. It is the same as my 1951 Farmall M at 38 3/8" so a Super M and SMTA hoods are not the same size. Thought you would like to know for sure, Hal.
