Farmall 560 Gas - Motor question

Ok guys, I have a 560 gas that I have used at some of the antique tractor pulls. I guess she didn't like the strain as now I have water in the oil. Where should I start to look to figure this problem out? Advice please.

How much water? a cap full or a quart? There are some good sealers out there to try if the leak is not to excessive.

At minimum, the head should be checked with a machinist's straight edge and a .0015 feeler gauge once you have it off. I've always been one to just have the head reconditioned once it's off.

Bring it to a machine shop and have them make sure its true and magnaflux it for cracks. Beats tearing it apart again in a couple weeks.

I would fill radiator to the tippety top, pull belt off water pump, with a cool engine, start it up and rev her up. If you have a head gasket leaking into cyl it will push that water up, not necessarily see any bubbles as the air may be long way from radiator. Can't run it over a minute or so as natural warming up will cause coolant to rise. If it doesn't rise up, you may have to look underneath for a leak. A good cyl leakage test would be the way I would go. Nothing worse than taking the head off and saying , I don't see a darn thing wrong.

I would drop the pan and presurize the cooling system. That would probably be the fastest way to see where it is coming from.
