Other than engines, is there any differences in these tractor's. I beleive I was told once that the 806 and 706 rears were the same but the 1206 had some parts that were larger/stronger. Reason I am wondering is I bought 806 that had a 706 rearend put on it.

The 706 and 806 from the clutch housing back are the same. The 1206 is built heaver in some areas, clutch 14", hitch and final drives. Transmission parts all the same. Just not sure with out looking but I think the 1206 has larger axels, the same size as the 1066.

The transmisson in a 12, although same size, had different heat treatment on the gears. The bull pinion shafts were made like the later model 56 series tractors, ( 7 and 8 you adjusted bull pinion bearings from inside of axle housing) of course wider bull gears, axle was different material but same size. The ring gear and pinion and pinion bearing was different but when you replace them you use all the same now.
