M generator belt and cutout

How do you install a generator belt on a Farmall M? It seems to me the fan and fan belt would get in the way. Also, the cutout relay has three terminals, but the wiring diagram I found for a Farmall tractor with a cutout relay only shows two wires connected to it. Should there be anything connected to the third terminal?

If this is anything like an H, which I think it is, you would move the half of the fan belt pulley that is on threads. Look up this topic here and you will find many discussions on how to accomplish this. After widening the pulley halves, the fan belt will become loose enough to slide off the pulley. Then you can feed the gen belt around the blades of the fan and under the fan belt.

As for the cutout, take a look at some other wiring diagrams and you will likely see that one of the posts is connected to the another on the generator. I can"t recall exactly which ones right now, but they will be obvious when you look at the correct circuit diagrams. Again, do a search here for this topic and you"ll find links to good examples.
