Reversed wheels on NF

Do people reverse the hubs/rims on narrow fronts (H and M for example) just for convenience and less mess in changing the tire?.. or does it mask excess wear in the front end? Will it make a difference if there is some shimmy?

When I worked on the farm years ago we would reverse the front wheel so the tractor would go through the mud (gumbo, black dirt)better, It was a little harder to steer tho.

the first 6" stone you hit with the wheels wide will be definitive in your decision. (to be thought about with your hand in a cast). Jim

They were set out wide for muddy conditions back in the days when used every day year around. Mud cleaners were available and that helped great and then you didnt need to have them set wide. Still see some that way on tractor rides. When you have over 500 tractors on a ride you see everything.
