How wide is a Farmall M?

Does anybody know how wide a Farmall M is with the rear wheels dished out, but slid together as much as possible to make the tractor as narrow as it can be with the wheels dished out?

Thanks

I could go out and measure my M, but I can tell you that it did not fit between the fenders on the trailer I owned at the time I bought the M.

The guy I'm sending to pick up the M can haul 84" between his trailer rails. Can somebody confirm that an M with the wheels dished out can be narrowed up that narrow? (without having to turn one wheel around).

thanks

No, it cannot be narrowed up enough without turning a wheel around.

OK then, what size rubber would fit inside 84" when the wheels are dished out but slid tight together?

Anybody know?

None. You could take the tires completely off of the rims and it still wouldn't fit.

andrew is right, at least one tire needs to be spun to get it narrow enough. my m on the car hauler dished out, the center of the tire threads are on the outside edge of the trailer. dished in, it will fit on the trailer.

I hauled an M on an 84" wide trailer with the wheels dished out and slid all the way in, 13.6x38 tires, the wheels rubbed on the inside of the fenders, but it fit. You are better off turning one wheel around though, it is not that big of a job as long as you have a couple of guys to move the wheel around.

Seems we have a difference of opinion here... does anyone have one sitting around with the wheels dished out and slid all the way in? Wouldn't take long to go out and slap a tape across it and post along with tire size.

The narrowest tread width with the wheels dished out is 72 inches. With 13.6-38 tires, that is the narrowest you will find on most, the width is 85.6, with 12.4-38's that you might find it is 84.4. Thus you could bend your fenders and get it on. I might try with 12.4's, I would not with 13.6's, because I have no desire to bend my trailer fenders. Basically turning around one wheel, as mentioned on this forum many times is the only right way to do it.

My SMTA with 14.9x38s on dished out wheels, set 1/4" from axle, measures 86inches outside of tire to outside of tire.
Note: Tire sidewalls bulge out wider than treads.

If cannot reverse one wheel (fluid filled tires, weights, etc??, can you make "wedges" placed on trailer bed to back over, thus raise tires over fenders to get it on trailer past fenders, then remove "wedges?

recently transported mine on an 80 something inch trailer and I had to dish in one of the wheels to get it to fit. Still haven't swapped it back over yet.
