Super C Oil Pressure

I just got my super c running a couple months ago. It sat in barn for a couple years before I got it. I had to take the head off because it was stuck. I got it broke loose and honed the cylinder and had the head machined. I also got the drain pan off to look at the connecting rod bearing. Put everything back together and it runs fine. My only question is that the oil pressure seems low. My 450 is always above 50 psi and this one only has 12 when idling. It goes up with more rpms. I have 10w40 in it. would SAE30 or another weight oil help.

On our C I was ready to start checking bearings but I put a note on here first. Jim Nicholson told me about the oil pump cover bending, I fixed that for about $5 and have a lot more oil pressure. I don't know if a super C has the same oil pump or not.

It does have the same pump. Try machining and a new gasket in the pump first before doing anything else.
