560 diesel fuel consumption

i just bought a 560 diesel what will the fuel usage be per hour under a moderate load. also want to know if you can do something to the 2 pt hitch to change it so it doesn't have down pressure

Take the traction control pin out, it is right in front of the lift cyl lower anchor pin. Far as fuel consumption, you will get a myraid of answers, they are economical though. I would say 3 to 4 gal per hr but they cut way back real good on light work.

just wondering if turning the knobs from double action to single had any effect on it

With a two row mounted FMC sweet corn picker, the one I drove one fall used about 1 1/2 gallons an hour. The 756D with the same model picker, in the same fields, used about 2 1/4 GPH.

There should be a double acting check valve in the hydraulic lines so there is no float position in the hydraulics. The float is accomplished mechanically by removing the pin.

Yes, switching to single acting will work. You can also pull the rear pin on the Fast Hitch sockets. The sockets will rotate on the pin several inches ahead and below the removable pin. I am not sure but I think the one pin pull feature is used for plowing, You will find these pins at the front of the sockets (nearest to axle). I believe the removable pin is !" dia. All big tractor fast hitches after the 300/400 used this setup.

You should get an operator's manual. It will explain all the options.

We could pick corn all day with a 234 picker with a half tank of fuel. Very economical.

Here's is a picture of the pin I was talking about. It is actually 3/4" and has the "D" ring.
