Fired the old f20 up after setting all winter. has a low and high speed miss. Valves are good, carb is clean, put in a set of w20 champ plugs, no help. cleaned and reset points. no help. plug wires are good. seems to cut out more when it gets hot. am i missing anything in the mag?,could it be the consensor. don"t those just fail? any info would help.

I have not had ANY luck with champion plugs. Had same problem with my M. Just my opinion. Also might pull valve cover and check for a sticky valve. My F20 will have a valve stick after sitting. Just kept working with a pry bar and it has always freed up. Always has done this even back in the 60's. Hope this helps. JIM

I have had better luck with Autolite 3077 sparkplugs in my F-20s. They look a little different! But, they work well.

Today's Champion spark plugs are "Not your Father's" spark plugs!

One thing to also check is the fuel mixture on the carb. mine wanders a bit, so I have to tweek it every once in awhile. F-20 are notorious for idling rough, but put them under load and they smooth right out.

Condenser should also be checked, as well as the other suggestions.

darn, just paid 28$ for them plugs, the primer cups aren't hooked up. messed with it last night, seems to have good spark in all 4 cylinders, might try my old plugs in it, and look at the carb a little closer, what do you guys think.
