300 utility fuel problems

The tractor generally starts up fine, and runs okay for minute or 2, then starts acting like it is running out of fuel. When I pull out the choke it will even out okay for awhile but eventually start acting like no fuel again. In an earlier post someone mentioned that the governor might do something like this. What should I look for in the governor mechanism that might cause such a problem? Is there a vacuum that causes the governor to function, or is it all mechanical? Dennis

Your issue is fuel delivery. Make that correct, and it will be good. Start with the fitting at the carb, and go back to the tank fittings. Jim

I had a similar problem on mine and it was from rust in the tank getting into the outlet from the tank. If it ran or not depended on when junk floated into the outlet.
