Is there a way I can tell without take off the cylinder head if I have a gas or distilite. head? Im still needing to use the tractor but I also need to put new valve guides in so Ive got to get them ordered.

Thanks

If you remove the valve cover, you will find a part number cast, not stamped, on the top of the head, towards the rear. I don't remember right now what the number might be, but someone else will know. You will probably have to scrape away some crud to find it.
