Super H Occasional Miss

Just recently my Super H has an occasional miss it seems only under certain conditions. Like today, I was rototilling with it (which in wet ground is a load for it) and there would be an occasional miss between the time I dropped the tiller in the ground and when it was running at full load. It never misses at idle and never misses under full load, only under partial load and not all the time. I hadn't changed the spark plugs for a while, so I changed them previously as it had done this several weeks back, but that has had no effect on the problem. Any ideas? Roger

Check the distributor cam for bearing wear side to side. If it can be felt, measure it. If it is more than .001" it needs a new bushing.
Set the points at .020" if distributor, and .013" if Mag.
I would turn the load screw out 1/2 turn at a time to see if that makes a difference. Front bottom of carb. If it does not, put it back where it was. Jim

Also, the timing could be slightly off. My Super H did that, I just turned the distributer by hand until I got max rpm. Some don't like to do it that way and insist on a timing light, but it worked for me, and is still working. However, mine was missing at idle, I believe at max rpm it was ok.
