M tubeless tires?

Will the rims used on the M (these are stock 12" versions) work with tubeless tires? This is assuming of course that the rims are clean and not rust-pitted, etc., are they "leakers"? Looking for actual experience, not "I think", thanks. I much prefer the convenience of plugging holes from nails, etc., and have plugs large enough in my kit that I have successfully plugged a hole from a railroad spike in a grader tire on a CAT 14H before, in addition to holes from 1/2" rebar, etc

Well since you only want firsthand experience, then just hide your eyes and dont read any more of what I have to say.

But. I would think it would not work. The three lugs that hold the rim to the wheel are rivited on. And most of those old rims are so beat up and dinged up that I would think it would be hard to get them to seal.

But, since I have not actually tried it, just disregard everything I just said.

Hey? what the heck you doing reading down this far anyway?

Good luck, Gene

Tubeless tire rims are different than conventional tube rims.
The bead on a tubeless tire is designed to be seated on a tapered section of rim such that when it is against the rim wall it is also pressing hard against its inner diameter om the rim. This is not true of conventional tube type rims, they are basically flat at the bead till the flange. THe tubeless tire engineering specification and rim is very different. You could put a tube in the tire, (being sure that it is the correct size) and possibly have that work. But it will not work as a tubeless on a standard rim, even with a sealing goo, it will not seat correctly, and will deflate radically. Jim
