5488 electrical question

all accessories will stop and start like cab blower,radio, wipers, and headlights will dim along with the cab accessories. my guess is cab relay. if so where is it located? thanks for any help. joe

The cab power relay is in the compartment below the dash and between the clutch and brake pedals. The box for the transmission "Sentery" system is next to the relay. Make sure you disconnect the batteries first. I have seen several guys leave the power hooked up and arc aginst the controler and blow it out.

Before you buy a relay, check the 30 amp fuse in the fuse block. A good chance the fuse block has melted and lost contact with the blades of the fuse. Go to a car stereo shop and get a 30 amp maxi-fuse and inline holder. Remove the 2 wires from the back of the fuse block and solder the inline holder to them. I have repaired both of our 50 series tractors this way with no more problems hope this helps.
