Cyl liner replacement on an A

How good of an idea is it to try and re-size hone the liners and just re-ring an engine that had been locked up for years? I had to soak the pistons with pb blaster and beat them out. Or would I be wasting my time and cash?

In would not be a waste of time on these slow turning engines.
I have done many that had sleeves that most would call junk.
The engine will probably still be running fine long after you are gone.
Build yourself a deck plate if you want a really good job.

Even a sloppy fast built deck plate is better than no deck plate at all.

Put your main bearing caps on and torque them also when you hone. Do your ring gap with bearing caps and deck plate on.

You can get new fings that are a couple thous over when you get ready to put back together. You mite not be able to get the walls good enough for new rings to work. You wont know that intil you get done honing the cycls.
