just got a new toy it is a low hour 766 that has sat alot the left brake will lock up way before the right where sould i start at to fix this thanks

Take the one that is acting up off and clean the rust and gunk out and it will probably work fine. Also check the lining thickness while your in there. Also check for leaks around the piston. If the pedals are not even in travel, you will need to loosen the bolt on the pedal linkage and adjust them so they are even also.

On the brakes of a 766 ya need to set the adjuster as per what the book says and here you will need the book .Myself i would be looking at BOTH brakes not just the one that is working better And before ya start to try and ADJUST THE LINKAGE here again ya need the BOOK.

766 has hydraulic brakes so they self adjusting as far as pedal height. Could be the one that grabs is the one that is working correctly. The other might have oil in it, adjusters stuck or just plain worn out. Pull them both off and inspect, clean and replace worn parts. Bet your going to find oil in the non grabbing one.
