What model Farmall is this

A friend at work says that he has a Farmall H and gave me the serial number to look up the year. I now have my doubts that it is truly an H. I have not yet seen it it. Can anyone help us out? Thanks.
Serial # OS4OBAHS30628W

Looks like an OS4...Orchard Special (poor man"s O4 with less special orchard/grove sheetmetal) based on the W4 which is a standard tread H

Pete76 is correct until the last two words. (no offence) the tractor is not an H, it is the same engine as a H but that is close to the sum total.
W4 series, and full Orchard series are its relatives. Jim

Actually, the transmission case and most of the gears are the same as the Farmall H. The O-4 has, as standard, the low speed first gear and the heavy front wheels to match. The steering wheel is the same and I think that the fuel tank is the same.

I believe the O, OS and W models would also be McCormick Deering and not Farmall. Farmalls refered to the row crop versions only.

No offense taken, but in essence it is an H...sure they use some different parts to make it a standard tread (axles, wheels, frame, fenders...) but saying it"s not an H is like saying an Oliver 88 standard is not an Oliver 88, or a JD BR is not a B.
As far as the distinction between McCormick Deering and Farmall; stickers are the only difference.

(quoted from post at 03:39:09 07/14/10) Tanks size wise arethesame, but the location for the sediment bowl is different.

Correct. The location of the sediment bowl is different, thus the H fuel tank will not interchange with the W4, I4, and O4.

Very true, I guess I just don't equate the two closely enough to swap labels. If a Falcon shares drive train, brakes, interior components (pedals, radios, door hardware, and electrical components with an early Mustang, they are (to me) still different models. Jim
