Dust cover on M/MD

Right behind oil pan and attached to bell housing is a cover held front of bellhousing with three cap screws. Can this be removed without removing pan first? Mine seems to leak a bit, and I'd like to reseal it.

Yes, you can remove it. But that is not going to fix your leak.

It's the rear main seal, correct? If so, I guess itll just have to leak. I don't plan on splitting this tractor any time soon.

Your correct, rear main is going. With that said i would not reseal it it will lead to excessive oil on the flywheel and thus the clutch face. Just let'r drip, till the fix at some point.
