We just got our C painted this weekend and I was wondering what the pad should look like that goes between the hood and gas tank, and the front hood piece. there was nothing left of the existing one, and I would like to put something back in to prevent metal-to-metal contact. Also We need new ignition points, is this something I can get at a parts store? we have no dealer nearby. Thanks in advance!

Napa and Tractor Supply sell the points, condensor, rotor, and cap.

I don't think there ever was a pad there. You could add a strip of heavy cloth or canvas.

Russ, My Farmall C parts catalog doesn't show any pad or gasket material in the area you describe. As already noted a thin piece of rubber like material, canvas or cork would be fine if you want to place something between those metal surfaces. Enjoy your C as along with the Super C are probably my Farmalls that get the most field time, Hal.

no pad was ised metal t5o metal. You can use tape if you like .
