Pully rod (Where does it mount

I bought a pulley rod from a man as my 48 H didnt come with one. There are 4 holes, not counting the mounting hole that it might fit in. 3 not counting the hole the choke rod goes into. I have tried it in each of the 3 and it does not work. There are 2 holes in the arm holding the hydraulic rod, but it does not work in these either. My dad had a 48, and im prone to believe that the lever attached to the top of the pulley housing had an angle or maybe 2 to it. Mine has none. just a slight riseing in a straight line from inside out, and maybe only a 1/4 to 1/2 in from inside to outside. Also, it seems longer than dads, sticking out maybe 3 / 4in out onto the front of the steering post. Where do I stick it lol

I have a couple of rods laying out at the shop where I do some of my work, but won't be out there for several days. I am sure they are just straight. Can't remember for sure what hole they go through but they don't protrude very far behind steering post. Some tractors have a special little bracket the rod goes through but I'm thinking the H does not. Not sure on that.

Here,s a couple pics of my 1950 H. hope they help.

Thanks for the pics. It explains it all. Wish I could get that kinda help with my brake question. I can see that, like I thought, the lever on the top of the pulley houseing on yours has a double bent. Mine dosent. Its flat with a slight rise from basze to rod hole. Also, The hole set an inch or better to the outside for the rod to reach. If I heat up that lever off the base of ther pulley and make the bends in mine thats in yours. I imagine mine will work. THANKS again. Bill

Gotterdone. Thanks again. I notice that my push pull switch is mounted in the case with the amps guage. Was that right for a 48, if you know?

As far as I know, the amp meter and light switch are all that go on that box. The upper hole above the ignition switch that is empty is for a radiator shutter control which I don't have or need.
BTW, I have all paperwork, order and check for this tractor. My Uncle took delivery on May 21, 1950 and it has found it's way down to me in March 2003.(Think I got the dates right without looking!)

Probably why you are having trouble remembering is because there were three different shift arms used. The first ones do not list a control rod. Second version uses a short rod with a bracket. It stops in front of the ignition switch. (My 1940 has this style.) The last style has the rod extending back behind the ignition switch.
