Dressed 'er up all fancy for the West Des Moines Parade. The picture looked so nice I thought I would share

It is a 1928 Minneapolis Moline LS200 manure spreader. It was designed to be horse drawn. Here is what it looked like when I got it this spring.

What is that bulge ahead of the "M" decal? Could that be a radar detector?

I wonder how well an antique manure spreader would work at 50 mph. It leads one to think about the derivation of "the sheet hitting the fan".

The bulge is a red flashing light.

At 6 miles per hour the wheels wobble pretty bad. I have never had it in gear with beaters and drag chain running any faster than a slow walk. Evan at that speed I suspect the poop would be a flying.

Thanks for sharing. Neat old spreader; was there a tag on the spreader/info from previous owner/old implement book that gave you the year of birth to the honey wagon? I keep my eyes open for an appropriate spreader for the 40 and now 60 series Farmalls. Parades attract politicians and if I were on a parade committee again and an entry like yours was featured, can you guess where the politicians parade spot would be?

Birthday of 1928 is an estimate. I have the book of all MM horse drawn equipment and know the date ranges. ($50 at the Waukee Swap meet in June of this year) The kid I bought the spreader from told me when his Grandfather said he bought it, so the dates fit. I tried working from parts numbers and found out many horse drawn pieces shared parts numbers for wheels, axles, gears.
