Im looking to put a front wheel assist under my 986. Can anybody tell me where i can get one.Has anyone ever tried this.

Good luck finding one. They are tough to find.
You may find one in a salvage yard.
I had one on a 1086. Bought that way. I had a few problems with it in the time I owned it.
Not the best FWD but it did work most of the time.They where made by Elwood.

My Dad looked for one for 30 years... He only found one for sale, back in the early 1980's, and it was seriously overpriced and geared totally wrong for the tractor he wanted to put it on.
All you can do is look look look, and keep looking. Look where? Everywhere. You never know when or where you'll find one. There was one on craigslist near here about a year ago, for example.
