560 Farmall Steering

I bought a 560 farmall that the hydraulics worked, but the power steering didn"t. I put a different steering pump in and now it all works but it makes a loud winding noise. I know this means there is air in the lines but know matter how much I turn the wheels back and forth and drive it around it doesn"t get any better. Does anybody know a different way to get the air out or could it be some thing else wrong? Thanks alot

I would say one of two things are taking place. Did you replace the suction tube with seal when you had the pumps out. Them seals get hard and when disturbed won't reseal and the other thing is the gasket and o-ring between the two pumps, you may be sucking air there just into the power steering. The problem is not air you can't bleed out, the problem is you are continuing to suck air into system all the time. Of course a dirty filter could also cause cavitation as a new pump will draw more fluid and it may not have bothered with old pump but I highly doubt that is your problem.
