Fuel Screen

I need help finding a part for my A. As best I can tell from my parts manual, the elbow that attaches to the fuel line is supposed to have a screen in it where it screws into the carb. Mine does not. I know there is a larger screen at the sediment bowl, and apparently this smaller screen is the "last resort" filtration at the carb. Where can I get one, or how can I make one? Right now, if I cant get it, I'm planning to try fabricating something with a spare sediment bowl screen. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If you have clean fuel, and a clean tank, there is no real need for it. A good used one can be found at salvage yards for little money.
Another solution is to use a good (gravity system compatible) fuel filter. NAPA has them. Put it into the line near the carb and all is well.
Cheap plastic filters will not flow well, and plug up easily. Jim

That's REALLY a dumba$$ answer, as the correct elbow with screen are available at the FIAT dealer and all sorts of jockeys around the 'net.

I have noticed that when you disagree with someone on this forum you always do so with respect. Not everyone seems to feel that is necessary but most do. Just my observation.
