Super M grill

I just purchased a Stage 2 Super M. It does not have the wide spaced holes near the top of the grill. Most of the pictures I have do not show those holes, either. I found pictures of 2 SMTA's, one with and one without the holes. So did they only appear on the SMTA or on some Super M's? Grill is kind of beat up and I want to get the correct one. My Stage 2 Super H grill has the holes.

only the real late ["54]super m"s had the grill like an mta only without the holes cut out. all of the super mta"s had the big holes cut out. you see quite a few m"s with mta grills because harvester supplied these as replacements.

Thanks -- that's sort of what I thought as this subject was discussed quite a while back, didn't find it in the archives. Only 651 SM's built in 1954, apparantly all in the in the Farmall plant, provided the last Louisville serial was 512541. Mine is a 53 from Louisville, so it would have come with no holes. The no hole grill should be a lot easier to find.

Yes, same as M except for the tiny holes which mount the front emblem.
