My uncles old Super A I am hoping to restore had the years of buildup from 50+ years of work removed by this years snowstorm. It has a diamond shaped front axle - all the others I have seen have a round axle, even in pics on this site. Any comments, info would help.
Thanks

That is part of what I am trying to figure out about it. The serial number plate reads SA
l 25#### as I remember looking at it, has the original red paint like they used then, hydraulics for the cultivators and belt pulley for threshing machine w Pto.

Thanks for the replies, Jerry

Generally, the Farmall Super A had the standard round axle (either adjustable or not). The International Super A (the commercial or industrial tractor) had the heavy duty square axle. But the heavy duty axle does occasionally show up on a Farmall. The International would also have a foot operated speed control, which is a small pedal between the 2 brake pedals. I don't think it was ever installed on a Farmall (at least by the factory). Many of the Internationals were sold for highway mowing. That use required a Touch-Control system and a PTO. Usually they also had a belt pulley attachment to run a knife sharpener.

Every one I've ever seen, The Farmall Super A had a serial prefix of FAA and the International Super A had a prefix of IAA.
