Just got done putting on my new manifold and exhaust(started right up and ran great) after about an hour of brush hogging my oil pressure was down to 5lbs. Parked the tractor took off the fitting in the block and put 50lbs air pressure to the fitting and the guage read the correct 50lbs. Oil level is fine. Am I looking at a new oil pump? or is there anything else I can try?

Was the oil pressure OK before the change of manifold etc? When did you last change the oil and filter? What weight of oil are you running?

Other than that, pressure is created by resistance to flow. If you have low pressure then either you have low flow (oil pump expiring) or a lack of resistance (worn bearings etc). Maybe it's time to drop the oil pan and have a look. You could always measure the clearance of the bearings. Hope that helped, Sam

oil pressure was fine before and after manifold change. I'm going to try filter and oil change first, i'm running straight 30 wt. Thanks for input.

Assuming the hydraulic pump is not leaking Hytran into the engine, diluting the oil.
The first step is to pull the oil pan and check the end frame of the oil pump. These often get warped and will allow oil to bypass. They need to be flat sanded on a flat piece of glass with 250, then 400 grit Silicon Carbide Paper. This will flatten the end plate. the end clearance is .001" to .0005"
plastigauge will work to set this using different thicknesses of very thin gasket material. This is the most prevalent reason for low pressure. If thirty weight is in it, and the pump is not at fault, putting 15-40 oil in it will help. Jim

It's funny your reply about hydralic oil might be right on the nose. The oil level was a 1/2" high on the dipstick when I checked the oil level and I thought that was odd because I never over fill the oil. What does this entail? where would I check for a leak? Thanks, you always seem to come up with the answers to my questions, you really know your stuff!

The pump will leak at the front of the pump where it attaches to the front engine cover.
Set the engine to TDC #1 cyl before removing pump, and don't turn the distributor. Jim
